Vegas Wedding Weekend Murder Mystery Party

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, except the groom, who stays forever.

6-12 players, sweet spot 8 · the full kit is ready in about 20 minutes. Or name your guests and see who they play, with the opening scene, free in about 30 seconds.

The wedding party has been awake for thirty hours. There is a suite on the Strip, a chapel booked for midnight, an Elvis impersonator on retainer, and a bachelor party that ended at a blackjack table nobody will discuss. The bride is in the dress. The bridesmaids are in the mini-bar. The groom is supposed to be in the lobby. He is not. Somewhere between the fountains and the drive-through chapel, the weekend has become a very different kind of vow.

Playing it feels like piecing together a night nobody fully remembers. Everyone has a photo on their phone they cannot explain, a marker from the casino, and a secret from the rehearsal dinner. Accusations arrive with hangover energy and hotel-key evidence. Clues hide in receipts, room-service orders, and a pawn ticket. Your kit hands each guest a member of the wedding party, a secret, and clues to trace back through the night. The reveal plays like the vows, said in front of everyone.

Perfect for

A riot for bachelor and bachelorette parties, engagement celebrations, birthday weekends, and any group that has had a trip go sideways.

Cast size

6-12 players, sweet spot 8. Every kit is written for your exact headcount and gender mix, so nobody doubles up and nobody sits out.

Who is at the party

A taste of the cast a vegas wedding weekend kit produces. Your mystery is written fresh, with its own suspects, secrets, and one guilty guest.

The Maid of Honour

Planned the whole weekend, has the groom's phone in her clutch, and made a toast last night that nobody has forgotten.

The Best Man

Lost a great deal at the blackjack table, owes it to someone at this party, and is the only one who knows where the groom was at 3 a.m.

The Elvis Officiant

Marries six couples a night, has seen every kind of cold feet, and recognised one of the guests from a very different chapel.

The Ex Who Flew In

Was not on the guest list, is now at the hotel, and claims it is a coincidence.

Setting the scene

Costumes

  • A white slip dress, a thrift-store veil, and a sash that says BRIDE, worn with sunglasses and hotel slippers.
  • A rumpled tuxedo shirt with the bow tie undone and a casino chip in the breast pocket for the best man.
  • A white jumpsuit, gold aviators, and a cheap black pompadour wig for the Elvis officiant.
  • Matching pink satin robes or bridesmaid sashes for the bridal party, with a Team Bride pin.
  • A Hawaiian shirt, a fanny pack, and a lanyard of casino player cards for the uncle who arrived early.

Food and drink

  • A tray of mini bottles of Champagne with striped straws, the bridal-suite breakfast of champions.
  • A late-night buffet: sliders, shrimp cocktail, and a tower of onion rings, served under an orange lamp for heat-lamp authenticity.
  • A frozen virgin daiquiri station in strawberry and pina colada, poured into novelty yard glasses for the designated drivers.
  • A tiny two-tier wedding cake with two plastic figurines, one of them face-down in the frosting.

Atmosphere

  • Hang a string of gold and white balloons and a printed Chapel of Love sign over a doorway as the altar.
  • Scatter poker chips, playing cards, and hotel key cards across the table as ambient evidence.
  • Playlist: lounge Elvis, Sinatra, and eighties dance pop, cut to the wedding march for the reveal.
  • Tape a fake wedding licence to the fridge with the groom's name and a blank space for the witness.

Host tip

Set up the room as the hotel suite the morning after, not the chapel. Balloons half-deflated, an overturned shoe, receipts on the floor. Guests read their booklets as they piece together the night, and the mess is your clue board. Play the wedding march at the start of the accusation round and have each player deliver their accusation at the altar. Read the solution as the officiant, and pronounce the killer guilty.

How your kit comes together

1

Set the table

Pick Vegas Wedding Weekend, your player count and gender mix, the difficulty, and the tone: campy, dramatic, or dark. Add your guests' real names if you like.

2

We write the mystery

A complete, original plot with a victim, a killer, red herrings, and a web of clues that lets the table solve it. Usually 15-25 minutes; we email you when it is ready.

3

Print and play

Download the host guide, one booklet per character, name tags and ballots. Or send each player a private link to read their part on their phone.

Questions hosts ask

Is a Vegas wedding murder mystery a good bachelorette party activity?

It is one of our most requested. Cast the bride as the bride, rename the party after the real bridesmaids, and play it in the hotel suite before a night out. Gather & Gasp kits print in about 20 minutes and take 4 to 20 players.

Do I need to actually be in Las Vegas to host this?

Not at all. A living room with balloons, a playlist, and a plastic Elvis wig does the job. The kit invents the casino, the chapel, and the wedding party; you just add the sequins.

Can the theme be kept family-friendly?

Yes. Set the tone to cozy in the customize step and the kit keeps the hangover jokes gentle and the story bloodless. Guests of any age can play a bridesmaid or an uncle without acting experience.
